Vince Proffitt

Founder & President

Vince graduated with Distinguished Honors from the United States Air Force Academy in 1999 and served the following 5 years on Active Duty as a USAF Intelligence Officer. His highly awarded and decorated service record includes being named the 2003 Air Force Instructor of the Year. He was hired by Medtronic Sofamor Danek directly out of the military as an associate and was promoted to full representative within 9 months. He had an immediate impact with no sales background and was rated the top 3 "Rookies" across the country in year one. He finished his time at Medtronic as one of the top ten U.S. representatives 2 years in a row which earned him a membership in the coveted President’s Club. He founded Spartan Medical Inc. in early 2008, and has expanded the company to a national organization focused on bringing advanced medical technologies to America's Veterans and Wounded Warriors.

Gregory B. Proffitt, Esq

Greg's previous experience includes successfully handling a wide-ranging variety of civil and commercial litigation matters involving complex insurance coverage, products liability, breach of contract, Uniform Commercial Code, consumer fraud litigation, construction industry litigation, personal injury, and workers' compensation. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1997. He received his Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University School of Law in 2005. While in law school, he served as Senior Staff Editor of the Duquesne Business Law Journal and had the opportunity to serve as a judicial extern to The Honorable Kevin G. Sasinoski of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. He also served as a summer associate for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Governor's Office of General Counsel. Before attending law school, he served honorably as an infantryman or "grunt" in the United States Marine Corps. He is admitted to the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Greg is responsible for handling all legal and financial matters relating to the procurement of government contracts, corporate governance, employment, consulting and services agreements, and operations management. He aggressively protects the valuable trade secrets and confidential and proprietary information of Spartan Medical Inc. and takes the lead in all dispute resolution, litigation strategy, and risk management.

John Tessada

John’s career in sales brings over a decade of valuable experience and customer relationships to Spartan Medical. After graduating from Texas A&M University, he moved to the DC area to pursue his career. He has held senior sales positions at two international medical device companies.

John's experience is primarily in pain management, spine, and government sales, and this expertise is pivotal in analyzing and selecting best-in-class medical technologies. He has been the cornerstone of Spartan Medical's growth since 2009 and is leading Spartan Medical's sales and expansion efforts globally across all Divisions.

Chip Hoover

Director of Biologics

Chip's professional tenure in the medical device and pharmaceutical industry has spanned over 13 years. He has held senior sales positions at multiple fortune 500 companies including Pfizer, Medtronic, and Smith & Nephew.

Chip's immeasurable expertise in a multitude of advanced medical technologies, which includes his specialty of Orthopaedic Synthetic and Allograft solutions, has been critical to Spartan Medical's growth and success since 2009. The professionalism, passion, and skill set exhibited by Chip are critical to Spartan Medical's future success as he will be leading Spartan expansion efforts in the vast Biologic Solutions Market.

Steve LaPaglia

Director of Orthopaedics

Steve brings over 25 years experience in the medical device industry to Spartan Medical. He has had sales and management positions in Orthopaedics, Imaging, Cardiology, and General Surgery and has managed corporate sales teams as well as local and regional distributorships.

Over two thirds of Steve’s experience has been in Orthopedics, including Spine, Total Joints, Upper and Lower Extremity, and Trauma. His clinical knowledge, management experience and many years in the medical industry bring an exceptional leadership capability to Spartan. Steve has managed distributor networks, led clinical training, directed sales and marketing efforts, and has supported every type of complex surgery in Orthopaedics. He is responsible for the Orthopaedic division of Spartan Medical, and will be intimately involved with driving Spartan’s growth over the coming months and years.

Mark White

Director of Spinal Technologies

A proven leader in the medical industry with over 30 years of experience, Mark directs the sales and marketing programs for Spine products at Spartan Medical Inc.. Mark's vast knowledge and experience in the spine industry will support the development of new products and technologies and lead Spartan Medical's growth and expansion in spinal technologies.

Mark's previous experience includes the development of the lateral market in the Washington DC Metro area for a leading multinational medical device company and implementing key initiatives on new technology projects for several emerging and successful companies. He has also directed the sales and business development programs for several orthopedic device companies.
